Sox Win Season Opener

Red Sox kickoff 2017 WMBL season with a 7-1 win over Yorkton

The Regina Red Sox defeated the Yorkton Cardinals 7-1 in the WMBL season opener for both teams. The Red Sox jumped out to  a 2-0 led in the first inning and then put the game away with four runs in the fourth. Aden Campbell led Red Sox hitters with two hits, two RBI, a walk and a run scored. 
Starter Jake Waters earned the Red Sox win. Waters pitched five innings giving up five hits while striking out six Cardinal batters. Reliever Seth Sorenson pitched two innings of scoreless baseball for the Sox.
Kody Rock took the loss for Yorkton giving up five hits and six runs over 3.2 innings. Offensively Caden Rosholt was one for three with an RBI and a walk for the Cards.
Regina continues their season opening road trip in Melville Friday night. Game time at Pirie Field is 7:05 pm
