Over 850 fans were on the edge of their seats Tuesday night and were thrilled with the ending of this one!

 

Second baseball Justin Carinci from Ajax Ontario (Eastern Kentucky) was the hero of this game. Matthew Fox (Huntington Beach CA) singled to LF and Matthew Pavelchak (Nyack NY) laid down a sac bunt to move Fox to 2B. This sent the stage for Justin Carinci (.402 avg) who singled to LF to end the game and extend the Sox winning streak to 12 games. The Sox now improve their record to 19-5 and have a 5.5 game lead over Medicine Hat in the Eastern Division. Justin was named Player of the game for his heroics.

 

Tyler Fortin (Southwestern Oklahoma State) earned his 4th win in 8 relief appearances pitching the final 2 outs of the game and striking out the last batter. Garrett Klein (Cameron University) started and pitched 5 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and SO 6 batters. Regina product Zander Oudie-Senger (Okanagan College) pitched 2 innings and Vittorio Iaccobucci (Fraser Valley University) pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing 0 hits.

Kody Hanna (Coker University avg .435) continued to wear out WCBL pitching going 4 for 4 with 1 RBI. Matthew Fox (BYU .347 avg) was 2 for 4 and Matthew Pavelchak (Post University) all had 2 hit games.

The Sox hit the road Wednesday and Thursday to play the Berries in Saskatoon before returning home Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
