Justin Carinci’s walk off single sends home 1100 plus fans very happy.
Sox second basemen Justin Carinci was the hero of the night when he hit a long ball to right field that scored pinch runner Glenn Noronha. The crowd held their breath as the long ball to right field actually hit the Dawgs outfielder’s glove and then was dislodged as he crashed into the outfield wall.
This ended a very exciting game that saw the lead change hands a few times. Okotoks scored 2 runs in their half of the 9th inning to tie the game 7-7. The Sox were down to their final out of the 9th inning and it was looking like extra innings may be needed when Justin came through for the Sox.
Regina only needed to pitchers in this game. Daniel Crabtree started and pitched 6 innings allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. He gave way to left-handed pitcher Colton Anderson who earned the win pitching 3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs (Both in the top of the 9th). Colton was the pitcher of record and earned the win.
Regina had 14 hits in the game and had Jackson Romero go 3 for 4 with 3 RBI (honorable mention for game MVP), Justin Carinci was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI (The biggest hit of the night which earned him player of the game), and Kody Hanna (3 for 5 with 2 RBI) plus Silas Butler went 2 for 3) and lastly Matthew Fox (2 for 5).
The Sox continue their home stand tonight hosting the Moose Jaw Millers in the continuation if the Trans Canada Clash!
