Game one started and 6:00 PM (7 inning game) and was halted for 30 minutes plus with a rain delay. The 700 plus fans hung around enjoying the concession food and were glad they did. This game ended with some exciting an exciting come from behind last chance 7th inning rally by Regina. Matthew Fox singled and found himself on second after the Berries pitcher mishandled a slow roller. Michael Pavelchak advanced him to 3rd on a sac bunt single and then Justin Carinci walked it off with a 2-run single to LF. Regina Product Zander Oudie-Senger earned the win in relief and Holden Hungerford had a no decision in his 5 innings of work.
Game 2 started at 9:00 Pm and was played under good weather conditions. Some fans left in the game as game 2 didn’t finish until 11:00 PM. The fans that stayed were entertained with good Sox baseball for the first 5 innings. Saskatoon jumped on Sox starter Garrett Klein for 3 runs in the top of the 3rd inning before Regina scored 4 runs in the 5th and took the lead. The 6th and 7th innings were not kind to Regina tonight as they surrendered 2 runs in each of the 6th and 7th innings. Daniel Crabtree took the loss pitching the 6th inning in what we would be called his bull pen day as he normally is a starting pitcher. Newcomer Chas Gruno made his first appearance as a Sox player and shook of some rust pitching the 7th inning. There wasn’t much offense in game 2 as Regina had 7 hits on the night!
