The Sox rolled into Brooks the day after a major rainfall that soaked much of southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan. The rainfall was a billion dollar rain for the farming community but cost the Sox a rainout Monday night vs Medicine Hat.

Tuesday night in Brooks the Sox jumped out into the lead in the 1st inning 3-2 after scoring 3 runs in the top of the inning on the strength of Cade Nelson’s 3 run Homerun. The Sox pitching couldn’t hold the Bombers off the scoresheet early in the game allowing the Bombers 9 runs over the first 4 innings. Bryson Sanchez had a rough outing allowing 9 earned runs over 5 2/3 innings. Bryson allowed 6 walks and struck out 4 batters. Zane Pollon pitched 2 1/3 strong innings allowing 0 runs to end the game.

The offense scored enough runs to potentially win the game. Cade Nelson was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI with a 1st inning home run that gave the Sox the early lead. Mike Kenney was in the DH spot and went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI and a walk. Mike hit a solo home run in the 3rd inning . Travis Johnson 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and Diago Aragon drove in a run for the Sox. The combination of Moose Jaw sweeping a double header over Medicine Hat last night and the Sox loosing has now left Regina 4.5 games out of first place in the east division. The Sox have 15 games remaining in the regular season. Watch game 2 in Brooks tonight on Home Team Live
