The first game of the newly minted Trans Canada Clash went to Moose Jaw Miller Express as they won 8-4 in 10 innings last night. The Sox had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning and hit into a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning. To the 10th inning the game went where the international tie-breaker rule had runners starting on 1st and 2nd base. The Millers got their bats going in the bottom half of the inning plating 7 runs. Nate Mensik capped the inning off with a massive home run. The Sox made some noise of their own in the bottom of the inning by scoring 3 runs. The game was tied 1-1 after 9 innings and both teams used the international rule to put up some big numbers in the 10th and provide an exciting last inning of baseball for the 400 plus fans who enjoyed the Monday Night game.
Allen Yen took the loss in his first appearance in a Sox uniform and Cam O’ Reilly recorded the win for the Express. Regina Product Dylan Edmands was 2 for 4 at the plate and Cade Nelson was 3 for 4 as the Sox DH. The Express are back in Regina Wednesday night !
