The Red Sox and Miller Express couldn’t score any runs for the first 3 innings of this ball game. It got interesting in the 4th inning when Moose Jaw got on the board first with 1 run in the top of the inning. Regina responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th when Jackson Syring walked to lead it off and then Moose Jaw committed 1 error, 1 wild pitch and 1 hit pitch which allowed the Sox to score 2 runs. In the bottom of the 7th Regina scored 2 runs with 2 outs when Justin Carinci singled and Jalen Meyers hit a 2-run homerun over the leftfield wall.
The excitement level increased dramatically in the 8th inning. Moose Jaw got homeruns from Joe Osborn and Austin Gurney and took a 5 -4 lead. Regina was not to be out done. Catcher Diego Aragon who was very strong behind the plate belted a solo homerun to tie the game 5-5 and then they managed to score 1 more and take the lead 6-5.
Tyler Fortin earned the win in relief pitching the last out of the 8th inning and closing out the 9th inning. Brendon Gutierrez started the game and pitched very well. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings striking out 11 batters. The runs game off the 8th inning homerun.
