Game 1 Update

Regina rolled into Saskatoon after losing the day before in Regina and took game #1 6-4. Matthew Fox earned his first win on the season in his 4th appearance and 2nd start of the year. The versatile shortstop/pitcher pitched 5 innings allowing 8 hits and gave up 4 runs striking out 4 Berrie’s batters. Vittorio Iacobucci and Tyler Fortin pitched an inning each in the 7-inning game. They combined to allow 1 hit and struck out 4 batters collectively.

Shortstop Jackson Romero had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Justin Carinci, Silas Butler, Kody Hanna Daniel Gonzalez, Jackson Alaniz and Brady Bye all chipped in for 1with 1 hit each. Regina committed 0 errors defensively.

Game 2 Update

The Sox were held to only 3 hits in game two of the double header. The top 3 batters in the order each collected 1 hit. Justin Carinci, Jackson Romero and Jackson Syring were the only Sox batters to get hits. Jackson Romero drove in Regina’s only run in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Sox starter Colten Anderson took his first loss of the season, and his record is now 4-1 on 6 starts. Ayden Page pitched for the second time since joining the team last week. Ayden pitched 2.2 innings and allowed 0 runs on 3 hits and struck out 3 Saskatoon batters.

The Sox record goes to 20-9 PCT 0.690 and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. They sit on top of the East Division standings.
