Sox win at home 6-3

After losing the night before in Weyburn 5-1 the Sox were at home Wednesday night hosting the Moose Jaw Miller Express. This was excellent game to watch as both teams played well and the crowd of nearly 1000 witnessed some great baseball by both teams.

Pitching

Regina starter Brendon Gutierez (Player of the game), appearing in his 11th game improved his record to 3-1 with a 3.40 era. Gutierez started the season in the bullpen and has now turned in some great starting appearances. Last night was no exception. He pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 1 hit. The only hit of the game was in the first inning after giving up a walk, he surrendered a 2-run homerun to Millers Austin Gurney who hit it out in right center field. After the first inning Brandon pitched 5 flawless no-hit innings.

Colton Anderson (2.92 era) worked out of the pen as he has been starting lately and pitched 2 strong innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and closer Tyler Fortin (4.86 era) pitched a 1hit 9th inning.

Offense

Justin Carinci (.351) and Kody Hanna (.370) had two RBI in the game. Danny Gonzalez (.318) is starting to find his swing and went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Diego Aragon (.291), Jackson Romero (.324), Silas Butler (.290), Glenn Noronha (.236) all had 1 hit in the game.
