Sox clinch 1st place with a 7-2 win over Medicine Hat Friday evening.
Regina got exactly what they needed last night and that was a solid effort from starting pitching. LHP Colton Anderson who has spent the last few weeks out if the bullpen started the game and pitched a gem.
Colton pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on just 4 hits. This allowed the Sox to get their bats going in the 5th inning and they cruised through the later innings. Tyler Fortin pitched 4 innings of long relief and allowed 0 hits, struck out 4 and walked 2 batters.
Regina scored 7 runs on 12 hits. Danny Gonzalez went 4 for 5 (.356) and drove in 1 run. Justin Carinci was 2 for 5 (.360) and Kody Hanna (.368) was 2 for 5, 2 RBI and 1 HR.
Last regular season game is Sunday 2:00 PM vs Weyburn. Regina travels to Weyburn Monday and the Sox open round 1 of Playoffs Wednesday 7:00 PM vs Moose Jaw Express.
